Summary

This was a qualitative research study examining the existing relationship between positive and negative language, leadership talents examined on basis of a structured interview, and the general effectiveness which was assessed by application of a 360-degree feedback approach. The study sample comprised of 804 high level executives selected from a number of both private and public organizations. The results indicated that most leaders use up-to four times as many negative and positive sentiments or words. Most of the negatively applied words demonstrated a clear discriminating impacts on basis of leadership assessment with regards to one’s talent and effectiveness.
