- QUESTION
THE FEASIBILITY TOPIC IS: WALT DISNEY WORLD NEW STROLLER RESTRICTIONS; MUST BE NO WIDER THAN 31INCHES NO LONGER THAN 52 INCHES
This semester, you will be writing a Feasibility Study (see information in Module 2). This study encourages you to look if something is feasible. For instance, should PXZ High School implement a mandatory school uniform policy? Should Yes Park build a fitness area for city residents? The topic that you choose should be local.
The first step is to find a topic and begin to think about some preliminary information about the study.
So, you will write a 1-2 proposal to me in letter format sharing your feasibility topic and asking for permission to complete this study, due at the end of the semester.
The elements of proposal include the following:
Feasibility question (Should…?)
Rationale for doing the study
Audience for your study
Timeline of project (a table usually works best)
Types of visuals and specific research that you will use (be specific by sharing the types of visuals and ways that you will use them and consider adding specific sources that you will use in your study)
Statement asking for permission for approval.
Please remember to follow block format and include design elements (bullets, headings, numbers, etc.) in your document. Cite research using MLA or APA format. If another format is preferred, please get permission from your instructor.Elements of a letter include:
Heading
Date
Inside Address
Salutation
Body

References or Works Cited
Grading Rubric:Content and Substance: Includes all necessary content:
1. Asks a “should” question and presents a local topic.
2. Includes a rationale for this study.
3. Speculates as to which type of graph(s) and/or chart(s) that you might include and your rationale for using this type of graphic.Audience Awareness: Includes the intended audience for this study (a specific one); is addressed to me for approval; adapts tone for audience.

Answer
Dear Sir,
RE: FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR WALT DISNEY WORLD NEW STROLLER
Introduction and Rationale
Kindly receive this proposition for a study to determine the feasibility of manufacturing a new type of Walt Disney World stroller. The rationale for this study stems from the fact that strollers currently in the market are standard and their specifications make them unusable by children with special needs due to their disability conditions. For instance, children suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy cannot use available strollers so there is need for a special type of stroller whose layout makes it usable by such individuals. While the new stroller will specifically be designed with clients with the aforementioned condition in mind, the design could remain open to slight modifications as may be deemed suitable for making customized products as per individual needs. Importantly, the new stroller design will observe standard doorway size and as such not exceed 31” width. The length will also not exceed 52”.
Feasibility Question and Audience
The feasibility question informing the proposed study is: Should the Walt Disney Company and other manufacturers start manufacturing customized horizontal layout strollers for use by children with disability conditions such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy? The audience for the study will include the following:
- The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates
- Manufacturers of wheelchairs and strollers
- Local authorities
- Other stakeholders including members of the public
Visual Methodologies
The visual methodologies to be used in the study shall include auto-photography and photo elicitation. The former will entail producing knowledge through photos that participants take of the world around them (Rose 16). As for the latter, it will entail using graphic images of the proposed/new stroller to generate a verbal discussion to come up with data that would help inform various aspects of the project at large. Such information will relate to financials, marketability, usability, and pricing just to mention but a few.
Need/Request for Approval
Sir, in light of the study rationale stated above, you are hereby, in your personal and institutional capacity, requested to grant approval and as such a go-ahead for the feasibility study to be conducted. There is no doubt that the Walt Disney World new stroller will be beneficial to many a child who cannot use currently available strollers. A feasibility study of the same is indeed merited.
Yours Faithfully,
