Williams Syndrome

S​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​tudents will analyze Williams Syndrome condition by evaluating scientific evidence, theories, models of practice, and frames of reference to determine the implications for occupational therapy services for persons, groups, and populations in a variety of practice contexts and environments impacted by that pediatric condition. – Description of the causes and incidence of the disorder – Describe the most frequent/common symptoms -Summarize medical interventions and other necessary interventions for common complications -Explain the role of and rationale for occupational therapy for th​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​is condition (include assessment and intervention) -Use the OTPF to identify how a child’s occupations and client factors are impacted by this disease/disorder (refer to Tables 2, 7 & 9 on the OTPF-4) – Identify one OT model of practice and one OT frame of reference that is appropriate for this diagnosis AND explain your clinical reasoning why you selected this model of practice and frame of reference. – Summary of implications for occupational therapy for this disease/disorder.
