Purpose: To develop a theory of writing that describes one’s personal experiences with writing/reading and communicates those details with a focus on developing a helpful document for future writing and reading situations.
Audience: Yourself! While you are submitting this assignment for the class the primary audience is your future self. Ideally, you can return to this document frequently.
Genre: A personal theory of writing
Include guiding statements or strategies for your reading and writing practice that you believe help define your writing process
Discuss your current strengths and weaknesses as a writer/reader
Be supported by your own experiences this semester – you need to provide evidence to justify your theory
Also include notes about how you hope to continue to improve as a reader/writer beyond this class. What do you plan to keep working on, what are you currently apprehensive about as you move into future writing courses? Etc.
