Answer

Childcare Service

Irrespective of the type of play, whether structured or unstructured, children gain a lot from playing since play helps them balance formal lessons while at school. Besides helping in the learning process, playing provides children with an opportunity to unwind following stressful rules and routines associated with school life. Children experience brain development and physical growth before attaining the age of eight. Therefore, proper early care and education programs are necessary at this time to help children harness the full benefit of such growth and development. The paper covers my thoughts on how children learn and the key responsibilities associated with early care and education programs.

Learning in Children

One of the methods that children learn is by using objects. Children always experiment, explore and create using various forms different types of materials. Using the objects assist children to develop problem-solving skills that can assist them in challenging situations. Children also learn social skills by playing with their peers. As they play and associate with one another, children develop the necessary skills of associating in a socially diverse environment. Associating with other children helps children to learn how to respond and solve conflicts.  On the same note, children learn by connecting with the community by visiting playgrounds, shops, libraries, and packs. Essentially, children can equally connect with the community by walking around the neighborhood. Connecting with the community is critical since it helps children understand the dynamics linked to the community. However, most of the children require parental guidance while connecting with the community.

Responsibilities of Early Care and Education Programs

The first responsibility associated with early care and education programs that I have identified is assisting the child to develop a good physique, motor skills, as well as adequate muscular coordination. Besides, early care and education programs have the responsibility of helping the child to develop good health habits such as eating, cleaning, dressing, and washing. Moreover, the child’s development of desirable social behaviors and attitude is another responsibility I have identified that is associated with early care and education programs. The reasoning is that through early care and education programs, children can develop healthy group participation and become not only sensitive but also aware of the privileges and rights of others in society.

Another responsibility associated with the early care and education program entails assisting young children to develop emotional maturity. Early care and education programs achieve this responsibility by providing guidance that help children to accept, express, control, and understand both emotions and feelings. Moreover, stimulation of intellectual curiosity is key responsibility associated with early care and education programs. Intellectual curiosity plays a vital role in assisting children to understand the world and enhance their interest in exploring new things through experimentation and investigation. An early care and education program also has the responsibility of helping young children develop the capacity of expressing their feelings and thoughts, fluently, and correctly. Finally, children are encouraged to be independent and creative through early care and education programs. It is because early care and education programs offer enough opportunities for children to self-express.

In conclusion, children can learn in various ways. Some learn through hearing, seeing, reading, and doing. However, young children mostly learn by playing and interacting with the environment. Nonetheless, the first eight years of a child represent a period where the child experience rapid growth and development. Therefore, early care and education programs should be structured in a manner that facilitates positive interaction of the child with the environment. As stated earlier, children mostly learn through interaction with the environment.
