Answer
- Specific learning objectives in the clinical experience unit were to understand the practical aspects in a clinic set up. These entail procedural aspects in health care, guiding and counseling, diagnosing patients, providing treatment and recommending suitable medication to people with mental disorders.
- I believe I met the objectives because I can be able to offer any kind of treatment/assistance with minimal assistance from second party.
- The part of the objectives that are not yet meet are issues with therapy, especially when dealing with mental and psychological disorders among the children. Assessing the needs of such patients may require further training on my part because of the complexities in symptoms
- Rewarding experience was when I was undertaking field practical which allowed me to meet and experience the clinical working environment. Providing medical assistance to patients with various needs and experiencing their recovery was a rewarding and good memory for me.
- The most difficult experience in this clinical unit was working under deadlines. I had to sacrifice my time doing research and engaging my fellow colleagues on different aspects of the unit to ensure that I met deadlines.
- What I would have done different now as opposed to the way I used to handle the situation previously, is to set my objectives and develop schedules and time frameworks on achieving the same. I would as well get involved in doing directed research to develop and improve my skills and understanding in the area of specialty. I would as well endeavor to volunteer myself to get the opportunity to develop my knowledge scope.
