The purpose of this assignment and presentation is to allow students to demonstrate practice competence with culturally and ethnically different others.
Students will choose a vulnerable oppressed/disadvantaged, minority population from textbook and syllabus in which to display cultural competence
knowledge and skills. Students will develop a presentation addressing the guidelines shown below. Student presentations should demonstrate a good to
excellent level of competency and application in the areas of cultural awareness, knowledge, and skills and should demonstrate growth and sensitivity.
Note: Online students will prepare a Power Point presentation that includes oral recording through Zoom, WebEx, or similar software to present dialogue to
peers. Professional clear voice tone must be recorded; students must be prepared to demonstrate their competency of the course content through delivery
of this assignment.
Required Sources: It is expected that students will use a minimum of the 8 required sources to support their presentation. Sources should be in the form of
the Diller textbook and scholarly journal articles on (1. cultural competence/humility/awareness, 2. self-perception theory, 3. critical race theory, 4. feminist
