Program Outcomes Achievement Reflection

Enrolling for the BSN program has sharpened my nursing skills making me a professional in the field. After completing the nursing program, I realized that I am confident in several competencies such as Advanced health and literacy assessment competency. The physical assessment class has assisted me in growing as a nurse since I had the chance of enhancing my physical assessment skills which positively contributes to my nursing profession. On the other hand, health management and finance competency has proven to be the most challenging one. Notably, I consider my accounting and management skills to be below standards and I acknowledge the need for further development. Enhancing these skills is a vision I hope to achieve in the short term.

Having accomplished my BSN program has resulted to several outcomes. For instance, I can easily manipulate information systems and technologies within a patient care setting. Moreover, I can promote a safe nursing practice environment while observing quality services when handling patients. Moreover, I find it easy to utilize evidence-based practice when it comes to planning and implementation of effective patient care. The physical assessment class under the BSN program contributed significantly in the generation of a positive outcome from the learning process. For instance, the class has made it easier for me to devise health promotion strategies which ensure the development of a healthy population and environment. Evidently, the class taught me that when conducting physical assessments, a nurse should always be informed of the means of disease prevention. As a result, advising the patients about how to prevent illnesses in the future becomes easier. This is a means of upholding and implementing quality initiatives as well as safety initiatives within a complex clinical environment.
