Answer

The Exteroceptive and Proprioceptive Information

The exteroceptive and proprioceptive information that the body often receives when in motion play various significant functions. This paper provides examples and describes the exteroceptive and proprioceptive information that individuals receive while running at the beach. It also discusses the importance of this information.

Extroceptive information refers to the stimuli that is sent across the processing system regarding the state of the environment in which the body exists (Kelso, 2013). The information can either come from the auditory or visual senses. In this case, the information is essential because it allows individuals to interpret the state of their environment (Chui & Schmitz, 2013). For instance, one is able to hear and interpret different sounds, as well as, visualize moving objects.  On the other hand, the proprioceptive delivers information about the state of the body which helps in integrating movement and touch sensations (Haibach, Reid, & Collier, 2017). Examples of receptors for the proprioceptive senses include ligaments, joints, and muscles. In other words, the stimuli sent by the proprioceptive increases body awareness and contributes to motor planning and control (Kelso, 2013). The exteroceptive and proprioceptive information that individuals receive while running at the beach is, therefore, utilized to interpret the state of their environment and body.

In conclusion, the exteroceptive and proprioceptive information that people receive when running or in motion play a vital role in motor planning and control. The extroceptive delivers information to the processing system about the nature of the environment in which the body exists. On the other hand, the proprioceptive provides information about the state of the body. In this regard, the feedback provided by the two functions is used during movement for motor planning and control.
