The body system comprises varying organs that work together to perform a complex function for the body. Some of the major body systems include the nervous system, circulatory system, endocrine system, respiratory system, renal system, and immune system. This essay evaluates the conditions of the major human systems.

Alzheimer’s disease is a neurological disorder that causes atrophy and brain cells to die. Alzheimer’s disease also causes dementia. This disease leads to a decline in the person’s thinking capacity and behavioral and social skills; hence, they cannot operate independently. Cholinesterase inhibitors are prescribed to help reduce symptoms of the disease.

Cancer is a condition that affects the major human systems and is caused by uncontrollable growth of body cells in the human body. Cancer symptoms depend on the body organ involved, and treatment is through radiation and chemotherapy that help kill the cancer cells. Healthy cells can get killed in the treatment process; this leads to side effects such as nausea, tiredness, and pain.

Diabetes leads to accumulates of glucose in the blood as the pancreas is unable to secrete enough insulin. Symptoms of diabetes include tiredness, poor vision, wounds taking time to heal, polyuria, and polydipsia. Diabetes type 1 develops in childhood, and people usually take insulin shots, while diabetes type 2 develops later in life and is controllable through diet.

In summary, the human systems are interdependent and work to create homeostasis. Some conditions of the human systems include Alzheimer’s disease that affects the nervous system, cancer affects almost all the major systems, and diabetes is a condition of the endocrine system.
