Answer
Zombie Anatomy
Zombie anatomy may be characterised by a menacing gait, good or bad eyesight, and slow and uncoordinated movements, or being fast and agile (Griffiths, 2016). A zombie’s integumentary system may be characterised by certain disorders or malformations. Granular parakeratosis, which is a benign skin cancer, is one of the features that are associated with zombie-like skin. Granular parakeratosis is characterised by hyperpigmentation, hyperkeratotic features, and erythematous papules that can coalesce into plagues. The skin plagues are often found as cutaneous folds of the body located more often in the armpits (Wilson, 2019). Having skin blisters; especially around the mouth or eyes may also be considered as zombie-like features (Catling, 2020). On the other hand, some diseases such as rabies, African sleeping sickness, leprosy, necrosis, and kuru disease may make some affected persons manifest with zombie like features or behaviour s (Skinweather, 2018). Zombies may have experienced a neurological or brain injury, which results in manifestations of zombie behaviours such as thirst for blood and lack of coordination. Damage to the orbitofrontal cortex is attributed to the expression of inappropriate behaviours for example the thirst to eat human flesh (Griffiths, 2016). Zombies may also display symptoms such as loss of appetite, lethargic movements, amnesia, language dysfunction, and the inability to suppress aggression and hunger (Griffiths, 2016).
