Capstone Reflection

As a nurse, incessant education is part and parcel of the profession since the field of healthcare is continuously changing with improved and new means of patient care. I have come to know that advanced degrees and specialized certifications are necessary to getting me to the nursing level I want to be and make be competent and knowledgeable in all activities that require the attention of nurses.

Notably, BSN program has several individual courses which prepare registered nurses with core abilities to confront complex healthcare challenges in nursing. As per my personal evaluation, I am certain that I have achieved the outcome of the program since other than core medical activities such as disease assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, I have also gained considerable knowledge about nursing research, patient care, and ethical and legal considerations of Healthcare.  I have done well in all the courses which proves that I did not only understand them but I can also practice them in order to improve patient outcome.

Professionally, this education has changed my attitude towards caring. Through the course I have further understood that caring, which is promotion of health, healing, and hope in response to human condition is one of the key factors that must be practiced by all nurses in order to ensure effective and positive patient outcome. Personally, I feel that I have made positive step towards reaching my goal of being among the best nurses who are competent in providing change in communities as far as healthcare is concerned.

One of the challenging area which I countered is Information Management and Patient Care Technologies. This area involved using some complicated machines that require a lot of skills and understanding to operate. However, through continuous understanding and mastering of certain concepts, I managed to succeed in it.
