Admission – Personal Statement

Boston Consulting Group has been my dream company that I have admired to work for to help transform the world through proper management strategies. My education and interim work experience in various work stations demonstrate my capability to add value to the firm.

Despite existence of many companies, Boston Consulting Group is incomparable to any other. The firm has for many years interested me for the positive impact it has had to millions across the world. The high level of professionalism and dedication to serving its clients with a keen eye on improving lives is just superb.

Success is attainable with the right attitude, experiences and skills.  I appreciate the high level of competence and skills required to execute the duties and responsibilities in quest to meet the clients’ needs. Education is key in preparing an individual to perform professional duties and tasks. I value education and this pushed me to further my studies to improve my capabilities.  Currently, I hold a degree in Business Administration, Majoring in Entrepreneurship from the University Of Dayton- Dayton OH.  I managed to score Grade Point Averages (GPA) of 3.33. Because of my exemplary performance, I received a yearly scholarship of $10500. Furthermore, I have enrolled in the New York University and in my first year at School of Professional Studies majoring in Integrated Marketing.  While at the School of Business Administration at the University of Dayton, I gained deeper knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship aspects that would be essential at my workplace.  The marketing course I am currently pursuing at the New York University, will ultimately sharpen my current skills in the field.

I also do believe that I have gained requisite practical skills on the operations and functioning of an entity through the various internship opportunities I have had in the previous years. In 2014, I appreciated that learning is a continuous process and the various positions I have held have helped me to learn new aspects, especially in the field of sales and marketing. For instance, in 2014, I got a chance to work with the Yuantong Car Sales Company- Zheijiang, China as a Sales Assistant. This opportunity enabled me to engage in research, collecting and analysing data for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). I also ensured proper record management through inputting data into systems and transmitting the same through mails to consumers. Training and assisting new interim students as well helped me to build my communication skills and empower others.

Towards the end of 2014 to mid-2015, I was privileged to work with UD Poster Micro-company in ENT class- Dayton, OH as a salesman. I was the team leader and through my leadership, managed to make profits running to $1000. I also booked a table hour in Kennedy union and used the platform to advertise and sell products. Using social platforms such as Facebook and Chinese social media to sell our products exposed me to the power of social media in earning leverage in this modern competitive market.

I have as well worked as a Sales Intern at the Kohler China Investment Co. Ltd (Zhabei District) – Shanghai, China for two months.  Here, I worked as a link between the sales managers with the regional sales directors, collected, analysed and reported information to sales managers, acted as liaison officer and assisted managers to communicate with the large project clients.

Similarly, I have served as a volunteer at the International student and Scholar Services, Dayton, OH where I used to welcome new international students, took them through orientation and helped them solve their problems.

I also possess skills in software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and SAS database that are vital in my duties. In addition, I can fluently speak, write and read English and Mandarin, hence able to work in a diverse workforce.

I am independent, highly motivated, and reliable person, in good health and outgoing personality. I am trustworthy, passionate, team player and a reliable asset, ready to be part of the team that will transform future business.
