Leadership Issues Affecting ABC International, Inc.  

            The major focus of this essay is to examine the leadership issues which influence ABC international. To achieve this, the Hogan assessment leadership profile is included in this case before making recommendations of how to address the leadership challenges.

Hogan Assessment Leadership Profile

Challenge

            Hogan challenge provides an indication of how leaders are likely to interpret the world and further treat the subordinates while under pressure and stress. People management is one of the leadership challenges experienced at ABC International, Inc. The outlined challenge is experienced majorly as a result of the changes in the work practices and increased consumer expectations within the market (Kruse, 2018). Additionally, the leaders also experience the challenge of conflict management. The outlined leadership challenge is associated with interacting with people from different cultures with different values and believes.

The Engagement Leader

            Having clear goals and vision is one of the key competencies which the leaders should consider to address the posed challenges within the business. With this competency, it becomes easier for the management to inspire achievement within the members of the workforce and to ensure that they are included within the firm’s strategic vision (Rosch & Priest, 2017). Moreover, it is also advisable that the management should focus on performance enablement to ensure that the performance of the members of the workforce is supported. The leaders can achieve this by empowering the members of the workforce to meet their workplace goals.

EQ

            Talent development is important for the leaders and the members of the workforce. With low IQ level, the staff lacks the right strengths to handle their tasks as required. However, with training and development efforts, the IQ levels of the members of the workforce can be enhanced to increase efficiency in task delivery.

Values

            Considering leadership values such as respect, wisdom and courage, the management can handle the challenges experienced in the workplace to ensure an effective organizational performance. With respect, the leaders can treat the member of the workforce with empathy and compassion to develop a comfortable environment for the staff to perform better (Hogan, 2011). With courage, the leaders will provide a demonstration that they can act with the intention of achieving a common good when faced with adversity (Smedick & Rice, 2018).

Leadership Plan

Goal

  1. To improve on conflict management skill in the next two months.
  2. To foster the level of employee involvement in the workplace within the next two months.

Strategies

            The goals will be achieved by engaging in further online research to establish how other successful leaders have enhanced their conflict resolution skills and encouraged an improved level of staff involvement in workplace matters. Moreover, delegating more responsibilities to the employees is also a strategy which can foster employee involvement.

Timeline

            The proposed actions in the plan will take place within a period of eight weeks.

Compensation Package

            Base rate plus commission compensation package will be considered in this case. The proposed compensation package is recommended in this case based on the fact that it focuses on rewarding performance (Huber & Hiltmann, 2010). With this plan, the leaders will encourage the employees to be involved more in the workplace matters to ensure better rewards by achieving a high performance. Moreover, with the commission being a factor considered in this case, stability will be provided to the employees alongside an incentive for them to perform better. Notably, this compensation plan works better to ensure that the people are motivated to put in an extra effort in meeting their set goals (Hynes, 2016).
