The art of making a resolution, strategies, and engagements with a motive to accomplish an unambiguous health care objective within a society is a vital move that should be well embraced. The gesture is normally made to achieve numerous healthcare goals such as the vision. Additionally, it outlines the priorities and expected roles of different groups in the health sector in terms of service delivery. Most importantly, the process of such activities – policy development process – several stakeholders play vital role in the process. This essay, therefore, describes the role of federal government in the healthcare policy development process. Moreover, it defines the importance and impact of the federals’ involvement in the process.
Role and Impact of the Federal Government in Healthcare Policy Development.
One of the most important stakeholders in the process of healthcare policy making at the government level is the federal government. Federal government is a system designed to break power from the rich to the poor. It provides an ideal condition where a great, robust and central government is distributed into smaller state of regional governments. Thus, the federal government plays a critical role in decision-making and adoption of healthcare policy development process (Benoit, 2013). This makes the federal government, through its three branches: executive, judiciary, and legislature – one of the most important stakeholders in the healthcare policy development process.
The federal government, in facilitation of the policy adoption during the decision-making, ensures that the executive branch roles out financial sustenance of the process through funding of its activities. Additionally, the federal government guarantees the adoption of healthcare policies through legislative process where the congress discusses and deliberates on the policy for the public good (Bulger, Bobby & Fineberg, 2016). Moreover, the government ensures that the healthcare policy meets all the legal requirements and standards by passing it through all the legal and judicial processes. Therefore, federal government at the local level play a critical role as a stakeholder in the healthcare policy development.
The pivotal role of the federal government in healthcare policy development implies that the stakeholder has a significant impact on the entire process of policy development. For instance, government’s involvement in the process helps in simplifying the State’s bureaucracies, protocols, and procedures. Additionally, it ensures that the rest of the policy development team focuses on the technical aspects of the policy. Moreover, the funds availed by the government play an important role in facilitating and sponsoring project activities.
Conclusion
In conclusion, healthcare policy developing process involves various stakeholders including patients, physicians, and governments. These stakeholders have specific roles in the entire policy development process, starting with agenda development level of the process that involves patients as stakeholders. The key stakeholder at the government level is the federal government.
