Book of Revelation
In your opinion, why should we study the Book of Revelation? The Book of Revelation is important because many people believe it offers God’s word on when Jesus Christ will return. Others think it offers a view into the thoughts, fears and aspirations of early Christians facing persecution. What is your view on what the final book in the New Testament offers? Try to offer view on some of the apocalyptic visions in the book, giving 2-3 examples, as well as your view on the 666 ‘sign of the beast’ reference in Chapter 13. Feel free to do a little outside research on views about what the mark might mean.

Answer
The Apocalyptic
The book of Revelation gives the strongest biblical representation of the proceedings of the suffering, handling the particulars of that dreadful time (Revelation chapters 4–18). The suffering will be a period of judgment, when the people remaining on earth after the rapture will agonize severely for their skepticism (Helyer, & Wagner, 2013). John visualized this sentence as a succession of twenty-one actions. This outstanding judgment on the wickedness of humankind demonstrates the significance with which God understands sin.
My view is that the book of revelation covers much judgement although, it does not finish with judgment. Rather, it offers an impressing support for the whole Bible, which starts in Heaven and finishes in Heaven. Apart from the judgement on the sinners, the book sends the message of hope for the faithful in Jesus Christ. for example, in Revelation 14: 1-5, the Lamb and the 144,000, John sees the Lamb on Mount Zion and an Angel with the 144,000. It depicts the redemption from the kingdom of evil as the first fruits for the Kingdom of heaven. It implies that Mount Zion was where Jerusalem was built. Here, it signifies God’s sovereignty in heaven (Revelation 14:3). The 144,000 possibly embody all the faithful believers who will be tormented for their faith (Lee, 1986). The book promises that the pains or humiliations that true Christians have gone through will pass away. Revelation prompts the Church that there is certainly hope beyond the passing prosecutions and scuffles of this life (Helyer, & Wagner, 2013). The darkness will pass away and the true church will all live in everlasting light. For example, in revelation 19:1-10, there was rejoicing in heaven praising God, who has marked righteous sentence over the whore of Babylon and punished the followers. This is a confirmation that God is resolutely controls everything and all will be accomplished according to His purpose, in His speculated time.
Revelation 13:18 says, “…calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six” (Rev. 13:18). This is the mark of the beast, which is the mark of mankind, the contradictory to the heavenly plan of redemption. It is redemption by the works of man meaning it is basically centered on man and contradicting God (Lee, 1986). Hence, John is revealing the kingdom of the beast, an evil human kingdom. The evil kingdom anticipates life and wealth but, in the end, brings death, unhappiness, and ruin. We take the 666 whenever we contradict God and sell out our trust to worship other gods, substituting God and His gifts of eternity through the Messiah, Jesus Christ with poor replications that can at no time be equivalent to the heavenly gift of redemption by grace through faith in the son of God.
In conclusion, revelation is God’s ultimate word to humankind, the conclusion of heavenly revelation. Its writing marked the accomplishment of the principle of scripture (Revelation 22: 18-19) and its setting includes the whole future of redeeming history (Revelation 1:9). Consequently, it is important that believers pay persevering attention to the realities it comprises.
