Dustin Yellin

Dustin Yellin is one of the promising contemporary artists living in Brookline, New York. He was born in California. However, he grew up in Colorado. His artwork entails drawing, sculpture, paintings, and performance. The artist uses a unique form of three-dimensional photomontage. Paints and images obtained from different media are put together within laminated glasswork, forming significant photographic allegories. The artist is recognized for his image-rich sculptures that show his interest in nature and entrepreneurship. His incorporation of science and art creates an open and inspired society. I think Yellin’s work reveals the hidden force of nature and science. The artist draws on modernism as well as the sacral tradition of hinter glass painting.

 I believe that Yellin’s work is of excellent quality. Nonetheless, he presents a unique style of contemporary art that has never been seen before. He addresses the real issues in society and seeks to enhance the need to become one. His paintings teach human history and the things that we have to overcome the challenges of the world. His painting, Migration in Four Parts 2017, shows a chaotic world filled with intimate entanglement and unequal distribution of wealth.

Dustin Yellin’s artworks such as, Migration in Four Parts 2017, makes me think of how artist tap historical forces into their journey, and how it influences their artwork. Primarily, consciousness in itself can be considered a migration of an idea from one individual to the other. Yellin’s paintings are not obvious and I think he intentionally makes them that way to invoke varied personal thoughts from the audience. I find the artist’s art interesting as he holds on traditional painting mechanism, but enjoins the contemporary ideas to make it meaningful modern audience.
