Computer Ethics – Artificial Intelligence & Morality

Evaluate the proposals of Dietrich, Savulescu and Maslen, Klincewicz, and Lara and Deckers in light of our study of the ACM Code. Which, if any, of these proposals offers a safe and effective means to moral enhancement? What assurances would you need as a computer professional to participate in developing such an AI? To answer this, you will need to briefly summarize each proposal, explain what you mean by “safe” and “effective,” and relate all this to the ACM Code.
