Select ONE of the animals ( or any specific breed of cat, dog or rabbit of your choosing) and research the genetics that determine their coat color pattern by watching the appropriate videos in this module (ex. If you want to research the rabbit, watch the “Rabbit Coat Color Genetics” videos.) You may do additional research on your genetics topic.

Write an essay on the genetics of the animal you have chosen. Please include:
A physical description of the animal and breed you chose. You may also mention any other interesting traits that the animal you chose may have and a synopsis on the history of the animal’s genetics. For example: What is known about the animals genetics? When was it known? Who contributed to the understanding or creating of the breed and why?
The names of the genes involved in determining the coat color of the animal you chose.
Finally, Write your paper for a hypothetical audience that knows very little about genetics. Assume your paper will be used as a brochure in a local veterinary clinic where clients waiting on their animals can read your paper and learn something about the genetics of your chosen animal.
