Students will prepare a 3 page single spaced book report on a relevant book of your choice. Relevant book topics include natural history, conservation,
biodiversity, evolution, ecology. There will be several assignments leading up to the final paper. Think of it as an essay; choose a thesis statement (related to
something we’ve learned in the class) and write a paper about that topic. You will be graded on clarity, spelling, grammar, etc. You may choose a book from
the list below or something else, but you must get instructor approval first.

Thesis:
Aldo Leopold, in many instances asks us questions from different perspectives. My paper will focus on two conflicting ones: Do we use nature for our benefit
or do we just enjoy it. If we do, use nature for our benefit, why and how do we use it? And if we just enjoy nature, as conversationalists, do we really enjoy it?
We tend to focus on the things that cause a negative impact on the environment and sometimes forget to just take a moment to appreciate it. Aldo Leopold
talks us through several short stories to bring us back to where we started.…
