In the Old Testament, the word that is used to describe the Holy Spirit is Ruakh, which means Energy or the Wind. The word Ruakh is a Hebrew word that Signify God’s personal presence. Primarily, it is described as a life force that sustains the existence of all living things.

According to the Old Testament, the God’s spirit had created a perfect world. However, the fundamental problem of the world is that people were given into evil, and this has created a problematic world with many injustices. Man has returned the world into a chaotic and dark state that the world existed during the first time the Holy Spirit hovered over the land.

God would solve the problem through the baptism of Jesus. During the event, Holy Spirit passed through him, and it was the beginning of a new creation to preach the word of God. The new creation is evidenced when Jesus goes out to heal people and forgive sinners. The spirit of God had come again to heal the world.

The holy spirits shows up and continue to provide spiritual nourishment. However, this only happens to Gods people. The bible states that God gave his son for the sins of man.

The Holy Spirit is essential in the lives of God’s people today. It continues to provide empowerment and encourage God’s people to express undying love for him. Besides, it allows believers to live their lives in ways that only pleases God.

  1. Opening of the Book Until Pentecost

It is introduced with the 40-day teachings of Jesus to his disciples concerning the kingdom of God. Jesus asks Israelites to follow him as he restores the kingdom of God. His death and resurrection significantly plays a crucial role in his elevation and enthroning as the king. Jesus promised that he will come back, build the temple for the people, and heal their hearts.

  1. Pentecost through the conversion of Cornelius the Centurion

The people were together during the day of Pentecost, and they experienced the pouring of wind and Holy Spirit. They began to praise the name of God in strange languages that they had no knowledge, but their audience was able to understand what they were saying. The new temple was to be filled with god’s glory and the followers of Jesus were to sell their belongings to support the course of Word of God.

  1. Paul's ministry around the Roman Empire

Paul, alongside his followers went to a mission to prove to the world that Jesus is the king. Paul had a different perception about salvation, he went against the popular saying that only Jewish people should be saved, which got him in troubles. Paul and his followers continued to preach despite the chaos that marred their gospel. Most people described them as being rebellious. In fact, Paul’s teachings made him to appear before a trial and subsequently jailed. His gospel did not stop despite being jailed. He continued to preach about Jesus as the legitimate king.

Christianity was a Jewish messianic movement that was diverse ethnically. Everybody was treated equally irrespective of gender or social status in the society. People were supposed to be loyal to Jesus and the roman military.
