       Advanced Nursing Inquiry and Evidence-Based Practice

Nurses face varying challenges each day in the course of carrying out their roles. Patients present with different problems that require urgent care. Therefore, nurses have to remain updated about the techniques of meeting these challenges. Consequently, advanced nursing inquiry and evidence-based practice as a course is significant in helping upcoming nurses source understand and know how to utilize the best treatment approaches for all patient problems. Similarly, as a learner, I feel that the course has prepared me to enhance my professional perspective and competency as a nurse.

Primarily, the aspect of evidence-based practice (EBP) has helped prepare me on how to integrate evidence, theory, research, clinical judgment, and interprofessional views into healthcare practice by stating the difference between each of these elements and how they can be utilized in unison (Grove, Burns, & Gray, 2017). Moreover, EBP has helped me realize the learning outcomes by explaining the significance of each event in the study outcome to the practice of nursing.

Carrying out a nursing inquiry to develop EBP follows a particular procedure. Primarily, one learns the relevance of adhering to ethical standards of any practice. Therefore, having learned the significance of ethics, I will be able to advocate for ethical conduct especially in relation to processes involved in undertaking scholarship and research.

EBP and nursing inquiry teaches learners about diversity and how to relate to different patients and specialists. Consequently, I will be able to articulate to different audiences regarding evidence to use in forming clinical decisions.

Nursing inquiry research requires learners to understand the various evidence levels of sources used. Consequently, one manages to understand the methodologies and nature of data that belongs to a particular evidence level (Keiffer, 2018). Consequently, I am now able to critically analyse evidence and data as a means of enhancing advanced nursing practice.

Most of the exercises involved in nursing inquiry are theoretical. However, the course explains modalities of how to incorporate them into practice using EBP techniques. As a result, I am now able to use research to carry out clinical trials or as a guide for carrying out nursing practice. Consequently, I am able to translate research knowledge to other forms that can help improve nursing outcomes and processes
