Answer

Analysis and Discussion of Weekly Specific Videos

Introduction

This paper provides summaries and analytical ideas concerning two videos with the theme of human trafficking in relation to nursing. The two videos, including the “Modern Day Slavery” and “Passion Freedom Film on Human Trafficking”, form the basis of the paper. The discussion consists of several issues, such as economics, demographics, technology, and how they relate to public health and global issues important to nursing practice. In addition, the paper will talk about the differences between the impact of specific diseases and health threats on developed and developing countries. Moreover, the paper will analyze the impact of politics, religion, and socioeconomic factors on the prevention and treatment of diseases and health threats.

Video Summaries

The “Modern Day Slavery” video consists of prominent opinions and thoughts of professionals in different fields such as the Chief Executive Officer and president of International Justice Mission, Gary Haugen. An analytical speech of the former president of the United State of America, Barrack Obama, Professor and Director at Mason University of Louise Shelley, are also included. The video talks about the socioeconomic and political effects of modern slavery. Furthermore, the video captures the direct thoughts a victim of modern slavery.

The second video entitled “Passion Freedom Film on Human Trafficking” talks about the different modes of slavery and how they conquered the ordeal. The video expounds on how human trafficking is perceived in different demographics as well as its effect. The video also shares the direct narrations and act from several victims. In addition, it elaborates on how victims are lured and abused in the process.

Analytic Discussion

Economics, demography and technology play a major part in health system (Turner, 2015). As per the “Modern Day Slavery” video, economically, some of the sex slaves are well educated and well versed with adequate knowledge to understand the excruciating effects of slavery. However, due to lack of financial freedom, they choose to indulge in sex slavery as means of getting out of poverty. After a long period of oppression and brutality, victims of trafficking start to develop a pattern of perceiving their oppressors as an inspirational block. In most cases, the victims overlook their health and prefer to earn from the trade. Health sector rely on technology in order to provide adequate and essential services to human beings. This is because technology improves efficiency, accuracy, and tabulation in the health system.

Most individuals from developing countries are marginalized when it comes to access to quality and immediate health care than the developed countries (Bean, 2017). Third world countries suffer more from direct negative impacts in health sector. As per the video of “Passion Freedom Film on Human Trafficking”, victims of human trafficking from third world countries endure oppression more than individuals from developed nations.

The video entitled “Passion Freedom Film on Human Trafficking” addresses socioeconomic evidence that sex traffickers work for more than seven hours of the night without proper clothing and security, while individuals who are into forced labor spend more than eighteen hours a day which is against the stipulated world labor regulations. These impose great danger on the mental and physical health of the victim.

According to the video “Passion Freedom Film on Human Trafficking”, the health sector suffers the most when certain religious and cultural practices go against the ethics and regulations governing the health sector. Some African states believe in traditional mode of medical treatment compared to the modern mode of treatment. Moreover, governments of many developing countries lack adequate funds to sensitize their citizens and improve their access to quality health facilities.

Conclusion

Governance, technology, and socioeconomic factors play a significant role in the healthcare sector. World health bodies should sensitize and implement The American Anti-Trafficking methodology law. The law appreciates the resilience of the victims by giving them descent jobs, access to quality health services and other social opportunities after being rescued. Additionally, developing countries need both financial help and skilled healthcare practitioners to adequately equip their health facilities in order to provide quality health care services. Lastly, health sectors should set spiritual structures and beliefs that resonate with ethics and regulations of the health industry.
