Answer

Barriers to Training and Exercise for APRNs

As health care improvements progress, nurse practitioners (NP) will perform a crucial role in improving health care outcomes of various people. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) needs to rehears to the fullest level of their training and education (Peterson, 2017).  Nevertheless, current barriers in the healthcare system bound APRN exercise. This essay discusses some of the existing barriers to training and exercise for APRNs, discourse health policy and approaches of lifting barriers to practice for APN, and observe types of policy and their relations to health care policies.

State licensure controls NP exercise and is a major barrier to NPs rehearsing to the fullest level of their training and learning. Licensure and laws for NPs differ nationally, notwithstanding a key goal of full exercise authority (Peterson, 2017).  The effort to rehears in the scope-of-practice guidelines turn out to be further obstructed by outdated hospital regulations.

Physician related issues is another barrier to practice for APRNs. Some physician proficient establishments, as well as the American Medical Association, trust that since medical doctors have longer and more demanding education than NPs, then the NPs are incompetent of delivering quality services, safe healthcare at similar level as doctors (Peterson, 2017).

Another barrier to nurse practitioners’ practice is work fulfilment and intent to quit. As the demand for nurses rises, NPs can be anticipated to play an active part in satisfying primary care requirements. The influence of qualified NPs quitting their work can have an adverse effect on satisfying the objectives of the primary healthcare needs (Peterson, 2017).  Finally, in spite of NPs having prescriptive rights, there are barriers in stopping them from following up on their patients in acute care facilities, which eventually might influence patient outcomes.

Health policy is the decision, plan and action accepted to attain precise healthcare objectives in a society. A clear health policy can attain numerous objectives: it describes the idea for the future that successively assist to lay down targets and ideas of addressing short and long-term goals. It summaries significances and the anticipated roles of diverse groups; and it builds consensus and notifies individuals.

Some of the methods of lifting barriers to practice for APN include; firstly, communicating regarding the APRN titles and the quality of APRN health care to shareholders as well as patients by stressing and showing the influence of APRN healthcare at institutional and state level. The initiative will make APRN purpose evident by categorizing APRN contributions.

Secondly, demonstrating the value of APRN care through implementation of innovative representations that influence APRN services, information and involvement such as Interprofessional Education (IPE) for the clear determination of emending interprofessional partnership or the health care/welfare of patients/customers, or both.

Another method is to institute media operations on the objectives of advanced practice registered nurses in care services and channel active petitioning to alter obstructive APRN guidelines. Finally, health ministries, organizational units, credentialing boards, and medical workers can be educated on the exercise of APRNs to help in apprising hospital rules.

One of the main healthcare policies is healthcare financing. Government expenditure on health care is vital for the convenience and maintenance of health care facilities and programs. Funding needs be accessible to back the idea that APRNs will adopt a significant degree of accountability for the achievement of healthcare improvements (Sullivan, Kiovsky, Mason, Hill, Dukes, 2015). The funding could come from federal agendas that admit a directive to deliver healthcare facilities to everyone or that recompense medical doctors at better rates than APRNs for the delivery of equivalent services.

Health care workforce policy is the area of health human resources that handles issues such as planning, growth, performance, administration, retention, data, and research on workforce for the healthcare sector.  The growth of advanced nursing learning plans is hindered by a shortage in the faculty that embodies the merging of numerous factors (Sullivan, Kiovsky, Mason, Hill, Dukes, 2015). There should be a clear policy or approach to strategize for acceptable workers, delivery and quality of health staffs to encounter health care objectives, such as to handle nursing shortages.

In conclusion the healthcare system must continue to deal with the challenges in scope of practice, learning, partnership, management, diversity in the medical occupation, and work force information. The responsibility of nurses is well-defined by their measure of practice and eventually their job agreement that is frequently ignoring the level of their learning and training. These together with other barriers discoursed in this paper restrict the contribution of NPs to attain the aim of health care.
