Think about Abstract, strengths, opportunity or weakness and what you learn about the case, there are some questions be listed as below. Thinks about them and select 2 to 3 questions to answer for each part. (you do not need to answer all of them)
Abstract
An abstract is an encapsulation of the paper:
• What is the paper about (scope)?
• Did they identify a problem (economic, logistical, etc.)
• What did the author(s) want to do (objectives)?
• How did they go about doing it (methodology)?
• What evidence did they use in the analysis?
• What did they find (conclusion)?Paper’s Strengths
Here are some questions you can consider as you prepare the critique of the paper:1. Is the article well written and easily understood with clear objectives and reasonable conclusions?
2. Does the author(s) address a tangible problem in society and provide an insightful discussion?
3. Does the author(s) present convincing data and other evidence to support their position?
4. Is the methodology technically sound and appropriate for the data collected?
5. Does the author(s) make a useful contribution to the knowledge of transportation and could it have long term value?
6. Does the author(s) make good use of the diagrams, figures or data to support their arguments? Are any missing, that should be there?
7. Do the conclusions flow from the material presented in the paper?
8. How could the paper be made even stronger?Opportunities for Improvement

Answer
Case Study Analysis
Abstract
The paper analyses the impacts of High-Speed Rails (HSR) on air transportation. It is argued that the HSR impacts the development of air transport by forming a connection which allows users to easily access these services. However, the two modes of transport are also competitors for inter-city passengers of a certain distance range since the users may be able to use either one of these options to arrive to their destinations.
Strengths
The paper is well written and easy to understand since it uses facts obtained from theoretical and empirical findings. These two approaches tend to complement one another, thereby leading to credible conclusions. The data presented is quite convincing since it explains the reasons why some passengers may prefer to use the HSR as opposed to the airports, or why some airports may gain more traffic while others are losing to the HSR (Zhang, Wan & Yang, 2019). In addition, the findings have been used to create recommendations on what should be done to ensure that both modes of transport are not negatively affecting each other, but that all are equally benefiting.
Opportunities for Improvement
A major weakness is that the findings of the study may be biased since they are not based on primary research. The authors have merely used secondary sources to come to the stated conclusions. These could have been used to offer a theoretical foundation for a primary research process that would prove whether the findings are similar in the current times or not. Hence, to improve the paper, the authors should consider conducting primary research to help fill in the gaps identified from the analysis of secondary sources.
A cartel model exists since it is recommended that the HSR and airports work together to ensure that traffic is distributed significantly for both organizations to benefit (Zhang, Wan & Yang, 2019). This paper shows how organizations can choose to get into an alliance so that both may benefit by gaining power over consumer decision making. I have learned that a paper should be properly organized so that the readers may not get confused or have trouble following through the research process.
