Answer

In pursuit of financial excellence in this highly competitive world, a lot of people are abusing the children in demanding they do unmanageable works. These children who are under the care of such individuals are mentally abused to the point of losing the meaning of life. Children can be bodily abused by the caregiver who demands sexual relationships with them. Such cases have increased numbers reported in the USA. Some of the parents opt to neglect their children when they don’t have the capability of caring for them (Cook et al., 2017). These children, consequently, grow without basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing. Evidently, the majority of kids abused are living in developing countries. The aim of this research paper is to show how evidence-based practices have helped to reduce and stop child abuse.

There is a lot of channels through which the information concerning the abuse of children can be obtained from. These programs intend to inform the public of the need to know about child abuse and how to stop it. Majority of these programs are deliberately advertised in media with the aim of disseminating information that would be helpful in fighting abuse of children. The maltreatment of children can be stopped if people are thoroughly informed of how to report and shun away the vice (ACFOPRE, 2012). My interests in this subject matter were sparked by the above information intending to, categorically, serve the purpose of spreading the knowledge of child abuse. Many times, people come across children with bruises but the explanation they provide is a bit questionable. Children fear to tell the truth to relevant authorities for fearing what will happen to them afterward. Basically, the interest was sparked by the desire to analyze an issue that had occurred in childhood and identify if, at any given time, I was physically and emotionally abused.

Recently, children have wrestled with the trauma resulting from child abuse. These children are not in a position to recover quickly from the pain inflicted. Others are able to recover from the abuse speedily. Evidently, there is no specific way available for the kids to deal with child neglect. The ability of children to respond to trauma is determined by several factors such as the intensity of abuse, the age of the victim, the connection between the child and the abuser, the time the abuse has been going on and mental stability of the kid (The Children Agenda, 2017). There are many types of physical afflictions to children such as having someone cut them with a sharp object; they can be burnt, they can have bruises inflicted on their bodies, and they can be hit on their head causing trauma.

Consequentially, there are many psychological effects associated with abuse of children. Such mental effect destabilizes the life of kids (Van der Kolk, 2017). These kids are unresponsive to their surroundings. As a result, the performance of these kids in school and other social gathering place diminishes with time. These psychological effects include; the kids are always anxious about any uneventful occurrence, the kids are always in depression, there is a possibility of these kids having low self-respect, most of them withdraw from the society, develop lots of fear, and also have difficulties in developing sustainable relationships.

The methods used by the articles to analyze information include mixed methods put in place to help patients of child abuse to disclose relevant information. According to Cook et al. (2017), participants involved in this process were required to complete a certain survey aimed at providing information regarding their state of health both mentally and physically. Correspondingly from Van der Kolk (2017), focus groups were used to make sure that necessary information was obtained from the kids. Additionally, interviews of victims were conducted. The interview helped the patients to provide relevant information likely to help the kids move past post-traumatic period. The findings of the articles stated recommendations should be applied in dealing with child abuse. This application of specific recommendation will help in reducing the number of child abuse cases. The articles also present specifics plans to be implemented in dealing with child abuse. The researchers proposed templates meant to provide certain helpful information to disclosing relevant details.

The articles added to current information new details core in helping to stop child abuse. The information provided by the articles suggests that a lot needs to be done to support the victim of child abuse. There was a recommendation in the government and NGOs to change the strategy they are using since the rate of abuse is increasing. The articles helped me to see the emergency with which the cases facing the kids should be addressed.

The articles in a great way influenced my patience in dealing with issues of child abuse. The articles helped me to see the need to address the immediate problems facing child abuse victims. Additionally, there was a need to find out why only a handful of the victims of child abuse report the incidences to the authorities.
