Company Overview

Diva in Defense is a company that started after its founder, Bianca Sosa, was attacked as well as mugged as she walked to her car late one night after ending her shift. Sosa got scared and defenseless, having had nothing to fight her attackers back with. This experience led Sosa to the realization that she needed to safeguard herself. When she started shopping for protective items around for self-defense items, she noted that all that were in the marketplace were bulky and unattractive to her eyes (Mccaughey & Cermele, 2014). The search took her several weeks before she got something that fitted her taste, preference, and personality, leading her to realize that the only solution she had was to develop a product by herself, hence the birth of Diva in Defense.

Diva in Defense specializes in tasers that are decorated with Swarovski crystals, shiny and cute defense key chains, and Lipstick pepper sprays. Diva in Defense concentrates upon empowering women across the world to feel that they are in control of their lives and that they are safe wherever they go. The firm has been in operation for four years. Its website was launched on 1st January 2016. The company is yet a fairly small one with a small staff team. Its management comprises of the owner and founder, Bianca Sosa, who oversees the company’s operations (Mccaughey & Cermele, 2014). There is equally an office manager, Jay Bruce, who role plays as the supervisor of six people who are responsible for the management of the company’s website and shipping as well as inventory control. Equally, Jay is responsible for payroll, inventory control, and supply orders for Diva in Defense office. The company’s board of directors comprises of: the chief executive officer (Bianca Sosa), the director of human resources (Dominic Smith), the chief financial officer (Kevin Plaweki), and the director of marketing (Robert Gsellman). Kevin oversees Diva in Defense’s finances, Smith ensures that Diva in Defense upholds SOX compliance along with other federal regulations, and Gsellman tackles the company’s marketing strategy (Mccaughey & Cermele, 2014).
