Answer
Peter has a duty and responsibility to save the company from its predicaments. Even though there are serious challenges in the organization like groupthink and political influence, the organization hired him to turn the company`s challenges around regardless of such environment. The other division within the organization has influenced Josh to join them while Sandy looks no-longer interested in saving the company due to fatigue. The head office at vigor is equally not interested in Peter`s efforts towards saving the organization.
Peter should consider talking to Josh so that he can bring back his experience and genius, something that can also motivate Sandy back to her former levels of work ethic. It was evident during the fearsome threesome that team and team building is key in boosting individual performance. All the three members agreed that they couldn’t understand how it worked, but they admitted that they had become better individuals than they were before they came together. That was testimony that they would be more productive if they worked together than if each of them goes alone.
Negotiation is the hallmark of good leadership. Peter should consider negotiating with the rest of the team-both Sandy and Josh to see if he can secure their services again. Alternatively, he should consider looking for other team members to build another working unit. He never expected that Sandy could turn out the way she did, and therefore he should not assume that there are no other individuals within the organization that could be up to the task. What matters to the organization is that Peter should turn its misfortunes around, the challenges he undergoes notwithstanding. The work of a leader is to work under challenging environment, and that is what distinguishes good leaders from bad one. Consequently, Pater should salvage Vigor as that would be the best opportunity to prove his leadership mettle.
