Discussion Board Forum: Sexual Development

Men and women are different from the physical, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. For instance women will feel loved and connected by their partners and hence will show their desire for sex and further open up sexually. On the contrary, men will feel loved and connected to their partners through sex (Penner & Penner, 2003). Looking at the physical and emotional aspects, it is clear that men are not only predictable and reliable but also not too exciting as in the case of women. Noticeably, women are considered as exhilarating individuals who like to spend a lot of time fine-tuning themselves. This is because the women functions on two fundamental trucks such as the physical and the emotional. The two elements should be coordinated for the woman to be sexually interested. On the contrary, men only function on a single truck in that when they are physically aroused, they have a tendency of showing their emotional readiness (Penner & Penner, 2003). Moreover, it is clear that the man will show his desire for an physical oneness unlike the woman who will desire an emotional connection. The woman is also different from the man due to her ability to reproduce due to her reproductive system (Luqman, Puri & Tanwar, 2015). Spiritually, the man is also provided with a higher role than the woman, when it comes to sex,  since he has the duty of loving his wife like Christ did the church (Ephesians 5).

The differences between men and women influence marriage. For instance, the natural differences between the two leads to a belief that the fundamental factor of maintaining passion in marriage and building intimacy revolves around the man (Penner & Penner, 2003). This is founded on the variance that unlike women, men make the difference when it comes to sex in marriage. This is regarded as a negative influence because it is unfair for the man to be provided with the better part of the responsibility despite having both parties derive pleasure from sex. Positively, the differences between the two ensures respect when it comes to sex and marriage. This is founded on the notion that the woman should always lead with her sexuality (Penner & Penner, 2003). This eliminates the instances whereby the woman feels used because when she is turned on, she will subsequently turn on the man after listening to the desire of her body.
