Personal Vision Statement: To be a Transformative Leader in Nursing Practice
Career development and achievement of specific career goals in any profession requires a proper definition of efforts and expected outcomes. The personal vision statement provided a detailed description of the towards achieving of goals in a one-year, five-year, and ten-year time frame, and the development of the popplet map aims to provide a visual presentation of the process. The DNP nurse's responsibility in any healthcare environment must be recognized as robust in leading clinical decisions and transformations towards increasing the quality of care (Knaak et al., 2016). From my perspective, experience and certification are crucial elements of achieving my vision.
Certification such as Nurse Executive (NE-BC) will provide competency in leadership. The vision statement outlines the increasing significance of evidence-based practice and the need for DNP nurses to establish competency in information management. Nurse leadership vested in technology and informatics contributes to the overall quality of care. Additionally, my vision focus on the role of policy in healthcare. Unless nurse leaders understand how policy enactment and implementation impact healthcare outcomes, transformation becomes a challenge (Gaynor et al., 2017). Developing competency in policy and forming part of the leadership team at the American Nursing Association will be crucial in terms of my objectives of transforming practices in healthcare positively.
