Answer

Elevator Pitch

For companies to survive in any marketplace, they need to outsmart their rivals in their respective industries. Diva in Defense operates in a health and fitness sector. To set it distinct from its rivals, the company must have a set of skills and strengths desired by its potential clients.

Skills and Area of Expertise

To assist Diva in Defense realize its goals, I have excellent communication techniques and skills. I also have knowledge in protocol and service ethics and rituals of the health and fitness industry, knowledge on how different cultures and age groups respond to or perceive various products as well as knowledge in policies and procedures relating to operations and customers in various industries. With these sets of knowledge and skills, I will be able to employ suitable communication tactics in different cases, maintain high standards of personal presentation, establish rapport with clients, determine and address clients’ wants and needs and deal with complaints raised by stakeholders. These skills have been bettered by my study of business management course. As an expert of business management, I have been equipped with foundational and fundamental skills and knowledge that are needed in managing business operations.

Greatest Strengths

My greatest strengths are excellent business management skills and knowledge and effective communication techniques. To build the confidence and trust of clients in a business, Garðar et al. (2011) state that there is need to effectively plan towards realizing a business’ goals and effectively communicate the goals to all stakeholders of a business. With my excellent communication techniques and skills, like non-verbal communication, active listening, closed and open questioning, excellent writing skills to write concise and clear notes, emails, faxes, and notes alongside the ability to understand and locate specific information and complaints/complements by stakeholders, I will be able to meet all Diva in Defense’s clients’ needs and wants (Bressler, 2018). I am also a good manager or administrator. From the business management course, I have learnt how to effectively and efficiently plan, organize, direct, and control all business operations.

Goals for the Diva in Defense Business

The main goal of Diva in Defense is to produce self-defense equipment for women that are attractive and portable for women during sports practices, yet affordable prices. Diva in Defense aims at ensuring that such equipment are accessible to women easily. This is hinged on the fact that while there are several companies in the health and fitness sector, none deals particularly with self-defense products (Meyer & Tran, 2006). Additionally, only a few companies that are offering defense products stock attractive equipment and tools that women are barely willing to carry around because of their dull colours and their bulkiness (Huang & Sarigollu, 2012).

Why a Business in Health and Fitness Industry

Diva in Defense deals in women’s self-defense equipment, tools, and items. The company specializes in cute and shiny defense key chains, tazers decorated Swarovski crystals, and Lipstick pepper sprays. The reason for choosing to operate in this area is that women continue to be victims of various forms of attacks, like sexual harassment, during their daily lives, including during sports exercises. By arming them with tazers or pepper sprays, the women will be able to make it hard for their potential attackers to target them both in private and public places. Thus, through Diva in Defense items and products, women will be able to easily defend themselves against any form of attack or harassment.

Diva in Defense’s Unique Selling Principle

Diva in Defense will employ low prices principle that states that by setting prices low, a company attracts millions of clients, sales large volumes, and subsequently become profitable ultimately (Meyer & Tran, 2006). By using this principle, Diva in Defense will undoubtedly increase its sales volumes and profitability regardless of minimal margins as well as reasonable selling prices that are associated with cost leadership generic strategy for competitive advantage (Huang & Sarigollu, 2012). Additionally, Diva in Defense intends to use marketplace-oriented pricing principle, which will be achieved by the company adopting flat rate subscription pricing strategy for unlimited deliveries for its clients who will purchase from the company’s e-commerce websites.
