This paper examines the role of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) site, its mission, a core competence in the site and its application to the practice, and the comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) toolkit.
Mission of AHRQ
The AHRQ’s mission entails the production of evidence to enhance the safety and quality of healthcare. It also promotes the accessibility, equality, and affordability of healthcare. AHRQ also work within the US Department of Health and Human Services and with various partners to ensure the usability and understanding of the evidence (AHRQ, 2020). The three core competencies that aid in achieving the mission include health systems research, practice improvement, and data and analytics.
Core Competence: Practice Improvement
The commitment of AHRQ is to help the frontline clinicians and health systems to deliver high-value, safe, and quality healthcare.
