The article, The Myth of Fat-Burning Workouts: How the Body Fights Back and What That Means for Trainers and Client, was written by Christian Finn to advise gym instructors to focus on what matters to realize weight loss success among their clients. Finn believes that the conventional instructions of burning body fats involving heart-pounding exercises are not effective. The author's arguments is founded on a research study conducted in 2012 by a team of researchers in Denmark, indicating that losing more calories does not mean losing more body fat. While the body loses calories during strenuous physical exercise, it has a way of fighting back to regain the lost calories. The author recommends an effortless method of losing calories called NEAT (non-exercise activities thermogenesis). NEAT is a clinically approved procedure referring to the calories people burn while doing regular activities such as typing, gardening, and doing general housework. Physical exercises drain individuals of energy, making them tired and unable to do other equally beneficial activities after training sessions. Besides, they easily pick unhealthy take away foods since they are tired to cook a healthy meal from scratch.

The author explains that burning body fats involves more than just strenuous and tiring physical exercises. Fitness trainers must stop giving their clients what they ask for because they paid for it. They should let them know the truth concerning the weight loss process. For instance, the articles assert that most people experience extreme hunger after a physical exercise session. Thus, they eat more food replacing the calories they burned during the exercise. Besides, tiredness due to physical exercises prevents individuals from involving in other activities that are equally important in enhancing weight loss. For instance, most people would not involve in household chores and other activities such as gardening, which also significantly contributes to the same course. The response of the body to physical activities is an essential concept that all gym instructors must understand. The human body adapts to the routines and device mechanisms to keep energy use in check. For instance, the body cuts the cost of additional activities and scales down on the calories it would use ordinarily on other regular activities that keeps the body working effectively. However, I would question the author’s alternative for physical exercise. I do not believe that NEAT is an effective way of losing calories enough to realize a significant weight loss.

Physical exercise involving strenuous activities may not be the only solution to weight loss. Other activities and diet also plays important roles. While it is proved that fitness exercises help in losing calories, the same can easily be acquired back due to the body fight back. People feel hunger after exercises, making them replace calories burned during physical activities. Nonetheless, the cooking process can be lengthy for them due to tiredness. Hence, most gym-goers easily consumers take away foods, which only contribute to more fat in the body. It is essential to evaluate the type of food we eat since it helps in sustaining the weight loss process. Nonetheless, gym goers should involves in other activities at home even after completing their sessions. For instance, they should be active in completing house duties to continue the process of burning calories. Gym instructors should understand the basic human metabolism process to provide the best weight loss advices to their clients.
