For example, #BlackLivesMatter has sparked international conversation and action around racial justice, antiblackness, and police brutality. Although some have critiqued the cons or limits of digital activism, others emphasize that it can be effective in spreading awareness, influencing action, and providing people with access to representation and information.

    #MeToo campaign.

    Purpose of this Campaign

     At first, the campaign was tailored by Tarana Burke in 2006 to support black women and girls living in poor communities who had experienced and survived any form of sexual violence (Bhattacharyya, 2018). Later in 2017, the movement represented sexual harassment against women in Hollywood. Slowly, the movement grew to encourage and support members of the LGBTQ community and the disabled persons who had experienced forms of sexual harassment (Bhattacharyya, 2018).

    The intended audience for the #MeToo Campaign

    The target audience is women or girls who have been abused or harassed sexually.

    Importance of the Campaign

    The problem of sexual assault, violence, or harassment is common in the current society. The #MeToo campaign plays a role in creating awareness on the problem and supporting the surviving victims, legally and emotionally (Bhattacharyya, 2018).

    Reason for Choosing #MeToo Movement 

    I chose to discuss this campaign because many girls and women suffer from different forms of sexual harassment or assault, both from people they know and others they do not know. There is also much unnecessary shame relating to survivors of sexual assault.

    Connection to the Campaign 

    At the moment, I actively follow the campaign trail, either through online platforms or physical meetups. I also try to raise awareness of sexual harassment and provide support to those who have been affected.

    Influence of the Campaign in Real Life

                This campaign has the potential to influence people’s thoughts in real life. For example, many people have undergone various forms of harassment. Highlighting this fact shows that no woman is safe from sexual harassment. At the same time, this campaign shows that it is possible to heal from sexual harassment.
