Answer
Health and Wellness
We are faced with many situations that require us to make decisions about our general wellness on a daily basis. Such choices are always directed towards a comfortable existence. There are seven important aspects of health and wellness according to (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 12) as is listed below:
- Physical wellness. This aspect underpins all activities that include proper exercise and nutrition and abstaining from harmful habits (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 78). I rank myself green in this regard since I have not only enrolled in a local gym, but also cut down my consumption of fast foods and alcohol.
- Emotional wellness entails taking control of one’s feelings to only focus on the positive side of life (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 173). I rank yellow in this because since even though I possess an optimistic attitude, I still find it hard to forgive those who have wronged me.
- Intellectual wellness deals with the acts of continually challenging one’s mind with new hurdles. I rank green in this aspect as I love reading books and playing chess. More so, I purpose to learn a new foreign language each year.
- Social wellness denotes our ability to effectively interact with other people around us and establish our personalities in society (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 202). I rank myself red in this regard as I am too shy to speak to crowds and hardly make new friends. I have a long way to go in achieving social wellness.
- Spiritual wellness involves possessing a set of guiding principles and beliefs that act as motivation (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 288). To this end, I rank myself green. My Catholic faith gives me purpose in life and hopes that there are always better days ahead.
- Environmental wellness is the creation of harmony between one and his surroundings (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 370). I rank yellow in this as I always find myself wasting a lot of energy at home through leaving electric bulbs open and leaving the taps running. I think I should improve on this.
- Occupational wellness entails the maximal utilization of one’s talents and gifts (Anspaugh, Michael, and Frank 483). I rank yellow in this regard as I shy away from sports which I think I could excel. Therefore, I need to boost my self-esteem to optimally use my talents.
