Answer

Is Technology Limiting Creativity?

The world is run by technology. Everything that we do today is facilitated by technology. Ranging from communication, health, transportation, and other industries, one can suggest that everything depends on technology. Whereas technology has contributed a lot to our lives, its negative impact on growth and the environment is not ignorable. When asked about the impact of technology on creativity. I would agree that technology limits creativity. This paper outlines how technology limits creativity.

First, technology limits creativity by discouraging originality. The predominance of technology in people’s lives outlines how it kills originality. Today, people depend on tools provided by technology to aid their thoughts. Many individuals limit their original ideas by purely depending on the contents offered by technology (Henriksen et al., 2018). Technology contributes to a lack of originality. People can do everything they want online without thinking.

Second, technology limits creativity by killing content. Online sources contain adequate information for academics, entertainment, sports, and others. Instead of people reading these sources to gain and generate more knowledge, they copy all the contents as provided in the internet. These individuals can never get time to think but purely depend on online sources.

Finally, each source of online article has have its distractions and notifications. The human brain needs attentions and ample time to be creative and thoughtful (Kinnula et al., 2017). However, the distractions and notifications experienced when people search information from the internet hinders the mind from focusing out on ideas or coming with solutions for problems.

In conclusion, the impact of technology on human life significantly limits creativity. Furthermore, technology is here to stay.  Humans are creative beings who should use technology to boost their creativity. Nonetheless, overreliance on the internet and technology is limiting human thinking ability resulting in low creativity.
