  • Analyzing Leadership Skills and Competencies

    In the process of writing and researching the course, I developed competencies such as strong analytical skills. Having analytical skills enables me to understand dynamics such as marketing strategies, identifying a target market, and market niche. Another competence I developed is desirable communication. Through effective communication, I can solicit ideas for marketing, product promotion, customer service, and gaining top management support.

    How I Leveraged the Gained Knowledge

    The knowledge I obtained in Intellipath assignments was helpful in the writing of the Comprehensive Project. The information and knowledge I acquired were crucial as they provide a framework upon which I created a strategic marketing plan. The Intellipath assignments were also useful in understanding all the necessary components of a marketing plan and also highlighted how each of the components could lead to the success or failure of the strategic market plan. Such knowledge played a key role in enabling me to complete the Comprehensive Project successfully.

    How the competencies and knowledge will support my career advancement in management

    The proficiency and competencies that I have gained in this course will be essential in my career development because they help me set professional goals that I can work to achieve. Additionally, the competencies help me to be an all-around leader because as a manager, I have various responsibilities such as managing employees, projects, and budgets (Sołtysik et al., 2020). Competencies such as good analytical and communication skills will be essential in accomplishing my responsibilities efficiently, thus, helping me advance my management career.

    Cultural and situational characteristics that contribute to effective leadership

    Some of the crucial situational, cultural, follower, and leadership traits that lead to effectual leadership include communication, humility, teamwork, respect, and flexibility (Larsson, 2017). Effective communication contributes to efficient leadership because it facilitates the flow of information while humility and teamwork make it easier to accomplish tasks effectively (Larsson, 2017). Furthermore, flexibility and respect help adapt to changing and diverse situations within the organizations with much ease.

    Role of technology in the efficacy and influence of leadership

    Technological advancements have greatly changed leadership in the 21st century.  Through technology, the effectiveness of leadership has increased because it has enabled working remotely. Leaders can perform their duties from any location, a move that has reduced inconveniences as well as costs (Hoffman & Vorhies, 2017). Additionally, technology enables leaders to have broader communication channels, which help to influence employees and connecting with customers and peers.
