Leadership Style

Leadership style is the way and the approach used to provide direction of planning and implementing of plans while motivating a team involved in the implementation (Safferstone, 2005). In this paper, I briefly describe my leadership style, it strengths and weakness, my plans of mitigating the weakness and how I plan to use of the strengths to supervise and manage personnel.

My leadership style is transformational leadership. I chose this style because my organization is one affected by the drastic changes in business environment. I need to navigate our organization towards operation by changing our existing culture, thoughts, procedures and processes. This style enables me to lead through inspiring my personnel and engaging them on ways of transforming our organization to meet the demands of a changing world (Alqatawenah, 2018). Some of my strengths is harmonious and excellent ability to inspire and engage my personnel and at the same time motivate them to not only embrace the changes our organization needs, but also to cooperate with management and leadership to keep the organization at per with the environment around us. This implies that I can easily get along with all the personnel.

However, I am impatient with all the processes of having to motivate and engage all the personnel who are directly engaged in the planning and implementation of strategies formulated towards transforming the organization. Often times, it takes long to harmoniously bring all the personnel on board, some of whom I may not share with the same ideas. To overcome this weakness, I start with the senior most personnel like heads of departments and functions so that they can help with motivation and engagement of personnel of their departments (Campbell, Dardis, & Campbell, 2003). In addition to this strategy, I lead through charisma and influence after setting consistent goals through open communication, empathy and support to the rest of the personnel.

In an ever evolving business environment, organizations need transformational leadership which can keep the organization on the wheels to sustainable performance.
