Social Media Influencers
Compared to most modes of marketing, media influencers are cheaper and more effective as they reach a wide range of audience and customers across the globe. It is important to note that other traditional modes of marketing such as TV can only be viewed by a particular population in a specific region (Irshaid, 2020). However, media influencers are watched by several people making the products reach to millions of people.
Media influencing type of marketing uses brand placement and data capture of viewers. This is simply the practice through which manufacturers of goods or providers of a service gain exposure for their products by paying for them to be featured in social media pages of media influencers.
The influencers play critical roles in marketing. The first role is increasing product attention and awareness. It is significant to note that there are some products that exist but customer have little concern about them since they do not know their values and use (Lim et al., 2017). Secondly, media influencers sway the decision-making of customers. Some people simply go for a product or service because a media personality or celebrity has advertised or used it. This has been the marketing strategy of big firms such as Nike and Puma.
The relationship between a brand and consumer has changed dramatically thanks to the impact of social media. The use of medial influencers is seen as one of the break through due to their massive following in social media. For example, Christiano Ronaldo has about 250 millions followers hence gets more than a million views when he posts something (Magno & Cassia, 2018). Depending on the content, people will decide to buy a product or service that is advertised by these influencers. It is in this context that social media influencers positively impact the relationship between the company and consumer.
