- QUESTION
- Review figure the images from Describing and Modeling Workflow and Information Flow in Chronic Disease Care [PDF](Unertletal., 2009)
Create Flowcharts of Key Processes from AHRQ
b. Analyze Current Workflowsfrom HRSA
c. Workflow Assessment Guide from HRSA(may be very helpful)
2. Visit the AnyLogic Cloud page where the simulation is hosted.
a. Click the play button by hovering over the image of the simulation and clicking:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hIy7zwJfMQ&feature=youtu.be
b. While the simulation is active, click on any of the tabs on the top to switch between views. In particular, note that the Statistics tab contains some values that you may change.
c. At the bottom of the simulation are controls that dictate the speed of the simulation. You may wish to slow down or speed up the simulation
Run the experiment called "Class Activity"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLVCtFqZWPA&feature=youtu.be
a. Click the box on the left-hand menu called "Class Activity." It's located on the same page as the link from step 2 above.
b. Based on your observations from viewing the simulation, fill out the inputs at the top of the page with what you think are appropriate numbers. Don't worry, you can run the simulation as many times as you wish.
c. After changing the inputs, any output information will likely disappear. You'll need to run the experiment. Do this by clicking the "Run" button at the top of the page - it looks like a play button and should be the first in the menu. You can see which each button does at the top by highlighting them.
d. Give the experiment a moment to run, and you should see the Outputs at the bottom of the page.
e. Review the outputs and rerun the experiment until you are satisfied with the results.
f. Export please the results to EXCEL and submit

Description
|
This is a simulation of a Level II Trauma Center for use in NUR 503.
The center receives over 40,000 patient visits per year. The hospital facilities include a specialized Express Care unit and Emergency Department area. EC area has its own staff adjacent to the Emergency Department. The model was developed to help analyze several improvement options such as, staff levels and schedules, Express Care hours of operation. Experiments also include changing and designing new management function, adding bedside registration process.
