Answer
In a healthcare organization, there are various elements that should be considered when designed and preparing a new employee orientation program (Kongstvedt, 2012). This program quest to direct the new employees in different departments. There below is a set element that will be included through the orientation program:
Welcome
A brief welcoming for the new employees will include workplace amplification, managers and co-workers. Supervision at the employee’s workstation will be done to complete the welcoming section.
New hire paperwork
The employee will be entitled to various paperwork and will fill any necessary forms within the indicated period. It will also include state income tax withholding forms (I-9 forms and W-4 forms).
Attendance and leave
Employee’s expected hour of work will be reviewed. Also, the organization policies concerning breaking time, meal, time off and absenteeism will be reviewed.
Safety and Security
The necessary safety and security protocols will be explored. in addition, the building keys, employee identification, and parking passes will be provided.
Required Training
It won’t be assumed that the new employees are familiar with safety protocols. Instead, the training sessions will be scheduled. The training will be based on technology, safety and any other special skill relevant to the field of profession. The expectations concerning completion and certification will be clearly outlined (Ginter, Duncan & Swayne, 2018).
Compensation and Benefits
Details about paydays, direct deposit, payroll deductions, health insurance, and any other employee’s benefits entitled will be discussed.
Employee Conduct
The use of telephone and computer by the employees will be reviewed. Also, the dressing code will be discussed and any other expectations. Other policies will include anti-harassment, phone use and socializing of social media usage. Copies of organizational policies will be distributed to conclude the program.
