    Precis

    Précis (Paragraph1)

Sentence 1: Name the author, genre, and title of the work, date in parenthesis; a rhetorically active verb, such as “claims,” “argues,” “asserts,” “defines,” “explores,” and “suggests”); and a “that” clause containing the major assertion, main idea, or thesis statement in the work.

Sentence 3: A statement of the author’s apparent purpose followed by an “in order to” phrase.

Sentence 4: A description of the author’s intended audience and/or the relationship the author establishes with the writer

Tips for writing the analytical paragraph

    1. The paragraph should begin with a thesis statement; a topic sentence that makes an interpretive claim about the way the text is written or the meaning of the text. One way to do that is to name the type of support and discuss the impact of the support.
    2. The paragraph should not include too much summarizing from the text.
    3. The paragraph should not include the words “I think” or otherwise state your opinion.
    4. The paragraph shouldn’t quote too much. I suggest that you use two quotes from the text.
    5. Always introduce and analyze the quotes you use.

Please use in-text citations at the end of each sentence where you use a quote or paraphrase information/ideas that are not yours or come from the story

Answer

  1. Life in Religion

Winner in her religious memoir ‘Girl Meets God’ (1989) argues that life in religion can sometimes be challenging to an individual. Despite being raised and rooted in the teachings of the Jewish religion, some specific law in the religious book still does not qualify her as a Jew. In order to qualify to be a bon afide Jew, certain criteria had to be met in accordance to certain laws set by the pioneers of the Jewish religion. Despite her knowledge of the Jewish religion, she still had to go through a bureaucratic procedure to convert into a Jew as her biological mother was not a Jew, therefore disqualifying her. This piece of writing sets to inspire individuals who are deeply rooted to a certain religion and are seeking to convert to a new religion of their choice.

Life in the Jewish religion can be difficult as it influences your lifestyle. Women have to dress in long skirts and cover most of their bodies. Piercings and other decorations on one’s flesh are frowned upon by the dictates of the Jewish religion. While living under the Jewish religion, one is unable to act freely with members of the opposite gender and have to act in pretence at times. This life in religion requires that an individual strictly adheres to the religious laws and can hypocritically ignore other essential laws in life.

However, religion should not determine how we live our lives. We should instead be mindful of our relationship with God rather than trying to please men. We need not to struggle to please the dictates of a certain religion but focus on building our relationship with God as He is the common factor in all religions despite the varied laws that exist.

In conclusion, as much as we may struggle with religious belief, always have it in mind that The Almighty God is our point of interest and not the dictates of a particular religion.

Answer

Assessing Risk and Reward

The Nissan Motor Company is one of the leading automobile makers in the world. The Japanese carmaker has primarily enjoyed a successful run, allowing it to enter various regional and international markets such as the United States. However, the changing business environment was not favorable to the company in 2019. Notably, the cooperation recorded losses amounting to 7.8%. The experience pushed the management into making tough decisions, requiring almost all of its North American workforce to go for unpaid leaves.

In late 2019, the company announced that the decline in sales necessitated a two-day unpaid leave for the North American workers. The stated days for the vacation were January 2 and 3rd    (Chicago Tribune, 2019).  Notably, this move was a crucial decision for the company because of its conflicting impacts. Whereas on the positive side, it could help the firm minimize expenses, it threatened to affect the public perception of the company regarding employee welfare.

The rewards for the decision involved cutting expenses by not paying the workers on leave, which eventually would translate into reduced expenses. Another reward was that the decision could allow the company to optimize performance by evaluating employee performances then developing new milestones. However, on the low side, the company risked affecting its public image and brand name, especially in the North American market. As per Chakravorti (2010), the way an organization treats its employees influences the firm’s public perception. Thus, Nissan risked eliciting a negative public perception. With a distorted public image, the company could fail to revive its declining sales.

I would have advised the management of Nissan to utilize the Predictive Analytic perspective in determining the right decision to take. Ideally, the approach tries to predict what might happen in the future if particular decisions or actions are undertaken at the moment (Traymbak & Aggarwal, 2019). Looking at the situation at Nissan, the company needed to develop a goal such as increasing sales. After that, they would have made decisions aimed at realizing the set goal. In this regard, the predicted outcome could give the management an overview of whether more risks existed or significant rewards could be realized.
