Why I want to Join the Honors College
Although the academic expectations on honors classes are significantly higher than in other study points, students who enroll for such classes are at an advantage. Many learners will enroll for the honors classes with a significant aim of challenging themselves or earning a credit, I consider it desirable to register for the classes as a result of several factors.
For instance, the honors program will provide me with an opportunity to dive deeper into my studies than when in regular classes. The fact that the honors classes require the students to engage more in discussion sessions due to the small class size suggests independence in learning desirable for mastering complex concepts. Additionally, enrolling for the honors classes will prepare me for my graduate degree and will ensure that I have the requisite thesis writing experience required to work effectively with my adviser. Therefore, it is clear that the academic expectations in the honors classes are significantly higher. However, the derived benefits such as research opportunities, smaller class sizes, and networking opportunities are also derived in the process. The honors program will also be effective in assisting me attain my academic goals by providing me with high-level knowledge, skills and experience effective for my general life and career. In addition, the college education will be effective in promoting my communication and problem-solving fundamental towards boosting my confidence in an employment environment.
Enrolling for the honors program is an opportunity that would benefit me personally and career wise. Not only will I gain the primary knowledge and skills needed to boost my career performance, but also get an opportunity to work and interact with a full-time faculty of advisers and attend smaller classes.
