Reducing Societal Violence
There have been a number of heinous tragedies involving mass shootings including the tragedy at the Sandy Hook elementary school and more recently at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, the Orlando nightclub, the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, the Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, and Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. In general, what principles and findings of social psychology could be applied to reduce societal violence? Discuss.

Answer
Self-perception entails inferring self-beliefs from self-behaviors. It is substantial to glimpse certain actions performed by other people around us. This may aid in averting harm from others as well as increasing the cooperation amongst us. In various cases, monstrous tragedies occur due to social situation (Cornett, Haschke & Gibney, 2016). Numerous aspects of self-perception may be effected regularly and in copious domains. Therefore, it may be used as a tool to enhance arguments concerning violence within different intuitions. The society should enforce an alternative significant measure that may reduce such massacre and do away with the subsisting ones. A successful enforcement of these measures will reduce dissonance, thus minimal societal violence. The aforesaid social psychology principles can be enforced to reduce societal violence through numerous means. However, the preceding discussion invites to address these principles in an extensive design
