    1. QUESTION

Research Problem and Statement (Questions 1 to 4)

Question 1: Answer: c. This is because a problem statement describes the main issue to be discussed or solved by the researcher prior to initiating the research. In this regard, option c clearly identifies the main issue and thus guides the entire research process, ensuring it remains focused. Although the aspect of care remains critical in the study as it is in the nursing practice, the study does not review any other form of care but that offered by instructors to their students. For this reason, options a and d are incorrect. Option b focuses on the need to fill the research gap but this is not the main issue in the study as the researchers were mostly keen on the correlation between the instructors' care on students' perceptions of their own care behaviors (Labrague et al, 2015, p. 1)

Question 2: Answer: b. Since a purpose statement should be able to reflect the research topic and the intended outcome of the study, choice b clearly reiterates the main topic which is the instructors' caring effects to students towards ensuring caring relationships between staff and student nurses. The main outcome of the study is to ensure that student nurses are able to create a caring environment to illustrate their professional objective.

Question 3: Answers are: a, c and e. Groove, Gray and Burns (2015) emphasize on the need for nursing studies to have an ethical dimension, impact to nursing practice and have substantive theoretical dimensions as noted through responses a, c and e, respectively.

Question 4: Answers: c and d. These represent the ethical representations and availability of subjects as recommended by the authors respectively.

Review of the Literature (Questions 5 to 7)

Question 5: Answer a. This is because the review of literature is mainly focused on how previous matters discussed a topic, the existing gap and how it will be filled through the present research and lastly, all these factors are also mentioned in the abstract. Discussing current knowledge may not be entirely relevant.

Question 6: Answer c, d and f. These responses clearly reiterate and summarize the key issues discussed in the review on literature.

Question 7: Answer: a. 10 sources are within 5 years of the publication year, 2015.

Study Framework (Questions 8 to 10)

Question 8: Answer: c. The authors effectively developed a conceptual framework based on theories that support the research theory.

Question 9: Answer: b and c. The two concepts provide an explicit description of the study's research framework.

Question 10: Answer: b. This is because the two concepts advanced in either sides of the statement contribute are equal and dependent. In  this regard, nurse students are only able to grow into caring nurses only if they are able to experiences caring relationships between them and their instructors at school.

Research Objectives, Questions, or Hypotheses and research Variables

Question 11: Answer: c. The statement has variables (as noted in the next question), target population and has a relationship that links the variables. These are qualities of a hypothesis.

Question 12: Answers: c and f. c qualifies as a variable in this case since it can influence another variable in the research (f). On the other hand, f is a variable since it is a variant due to the force of another variable and it is the variable being explained in the study.

Question 13: Answer: a. Instructors' caring behaviors can best be implemented trough the nursing curriculum and this is the main concept being emphasized by the study.

Question 14: Answer: a. By implementing a nursing curriculum, nurse students will be more caring and able to utilize this in their profession. The students' caring behaviors are thus sort through the methods in order to explain how care can be learnt, shared and expressed.

Question 15: Answers: a, c, d and e. These are clearly noted in the results implying they were filled in the questionnaire and thus the need to tabulate in order to identify the different compositions of the study group.

Research Design (Questions 16 to 19)

Question 16: Answers: a and c. Both descriptive and non-experimental since the researcher does not manipulate the environment and therefore depends on the observations and interpretations realized to draw conclusions.

Question 17: Answer: a. Cross-sectional because the researchers only took subsets from Greece, India, the Philippines and Nigeria who would be a representation of nurses across the entire world.

Question 18: Answer: d. No new intervention or treatment is designed.

Question 19: Answer: a. A pilot study is specifically mentioned in Labrague et al (2015, p. 341).

Question 20: Answer: b: This is because the research purpose gives the intention of the research based on a brief problem. On the other hand, by explaining to the respondent why he or she has to participate, a brief background of the study is provided and therefore there will be no need to repeat the review of literature in the consent form. Lastly, the procedure to be followed is important as it will help the respondent know how he or she will be involved and if they are confident and willing, they will participate fully.
