Answer
Resilience and Change
Resilience is important in the field of nursing since the potential for burnout is common in such environments. As a result, various steps should be considered to promote resilience. For instance, care professionals should build on their self-esteem by engaging in constant reminders about their qualities and strengths. This is an effective way of ensuring that their negative thoughts are always replaced with positive ones (Davies, 2020). Maintaining a positive social networks with the peers within the workplace setup is also an effective way of building on resilience. Notably, such environments will make it easy for the professionals to share their stresses and try to find personal solutions. Exercising flexibility within the event of change is also a fundamental step of ensuring resilience. It is a fact that change can be disruptive. However, it is recommended that the care professionals should always strive to visualize it positively in that this creates optimism which enables one to act appropriately (Davies, 2020).
While in the care environment, I would communicate change to the patients in an open and honest manner. In this case, I would explain to the patients the reasons why change is being carried out in the care setting and the need for it. Moreover, I would ensure that the patients are informed about the positive and the negative impacts of the process of change (Schulz-Knappe, Koch & Beckert, 2019). Similarly, I would also communicate to my peers about the need for change and the effect on them. I will also ensure that I remain specific about what the change will require of them. In both cases, I will provide the patients and the peers with an opportunity to ask questions about the change so that I can fully address their concerns to avoid cases of change resistance (Schulz-Knappe, Koch & Beckert, 2019).
