Discussion: Examining Nursing Specialties
You have probably seen one or more of the many inspirational posters about decisions. A visual such as a forked road or a street sign is typically pictured, along with a quote designed to inspire.
Decisions are often not so easily inspired. Perhaps you discovered this when choosing a specialty within the MSN program. This decision is a critical part of your plan for success, and you no doubt want to get it right. This is yet another area where your network can help, as well as other sources of information that can help you make an informed choice.
To Prepare:
Reflect on your decision to pursue a specialty within the MSN program, including your professional and academic goals as they relate to your program/specialization.

Answer
Reasons for Family Nurse Practitioner
Since I was young, I have been thinking of a career which could give me an opportunity to work with less fortunate people in the society. When I lost my cousin at a tender age due to work negligence and errors in the hospital, I decided to work with patients and families, especially the ones from low income background and underprivileged to bring safety in health industry and ensure patients are safe in the hospitals. Therefore, a course in Family Nurse Practitioner is a career chosen based on inner interest and the love to ensure that people are not only safe but also healthy.
Family Nurse Practitioner program will give me an opportunity to interact with several patients from different set up and origin hence I will be able to have vast information and about families and related problems they encounter. Such experience will be of great importance to me since I will use them to solve problems people are facing in various communities (Barnes, 2015). On the same note, I have worked in community development projects as a social worker which has given me an opportunity to identify how taking care of individuals with needs brings hope in their lives.
Lastly, I am a hard worker who always aims at being on top in every activity. Thus, I am certain that I will emerge as one the top students who will be an important asset of the school. In that regard, I will use the knowledge acquired not only to take care of the needy but also to conduct certain research on various emerging diseases which put health industry and specifically lives of people in jeopardy.
