Stock Market Game
The first stock I purchased is Facebook (FB). I decided to purchase this stock because the Facebook network remains unmatched and because of its newly introduced Advertisement angle, the network has been earning billions of dollars. I purchased 200 shares at the cost of $69,144 in total. This stock recorded a high of up to 10% within 24 hours.
The second stock I purchased id from Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM). I purchased stock herein because the market has been relatively stable for the past two months thus there is some assurance of predictability. I purchased 555 shares at the total cost of $11,953.60. This stock recorded stagnation and by the end of 24 hours it had recorded a decline of 1%.
The third stock I purchased is from Apple Inc. (APPL). I decided to purchase this stock because Apple has a growing dividend coupled with the ability to set high prices on quality commodities which are consequentially accepted by consumers. I purchased 100 shares at the total cost of $19,700. This stock recorded a high of 2% within 24 hours.
One main lesson I learnt from this exercise appertains to the need for diversification when making investments in the stock market (Mercadante, 2018). Whereas one stock may do well today and the other badly, there should never be an overload of stocks since the risks become too concentrated.
