  1. QUESTION

    Title:
    Team Project

    Paper Details
This is the info the paper needs to be written based on below and attached is an overview of the backyard project in detail and the 2nd attachment is the first part of the project done with all estimate numbers to based this paper off of. Guidelines for this paper below:
    Overview
Please see the "Group Project Instructions" (located in the Start Here menu) for full instructions.

Estimate each activity’s duration and cost (week 5)
    a. Using the web and other sources, find costs for various items. For example, you can calculate the concrete paver path area in square feet, multiply that by the cost for each 12 in. x 12 in. paver. Document your cost/time source(s)!

    b. Use all four of the estimating techniques. Three-point estimating can be quite useful for duration estimates.

    c. For self-performed construction, you can drive four (4) stainless steel screws into boards per minute.

    d. Sum the costs for your activities and include 15 percent more for contingencies

1002

Compose Measurements

Measurements were also provided via the project overview

1003

Compose a budget

After looking at what activities need to have permits and how much each development is going to costs a budget plan needs to be created to determine how much needs to be set aside for each item, labor, and time.

Homeowner

1004

Apply and obtain permits

In order to build the Gazebo and the Deck, the homeowner will need building permits. The electrical work is also needing a permit. These need to be obtained before any work can be done with these specific activities.

PM/homeowner

1005

Purchase all products/materials needed for the project

Each item/task is going to require their own specific products or materials in order to complete them. Examples being; fire pit needs concrete pavers, deck needs recyclable plastic decking, and gazebo is going to need wood. The homeowner must also prepare for other’s taking part in the project as well. Example being Uncle Leo the Electrician requires conduit to be installed for the gazebo, pond, and deck before he comes to take his part.

homeowner

1006

Reach out/find team members to help with each section/task of the project.

Uncle Leo and two friends that owe homeowner big favors have already been assigned their tasks. Homeowner now needs to figure how many laborers they will need to complete the project in the specified time frame.

PM

1007

Create a schedule and assign tasks

There is already a time frame for the project as a whole, but a schedule should be put in place in order to ensure the project reaches the end goal in the specified time frame. Something that may affect the schedule is the weather. The weather should be taken into consideration when it comes to planning each task.  After hiring the laborers, they need to be assigned tasks and it needs to be ensured that they have knowledge in the field they are assigned.

PM

1008

Provide the schedules and assigned tasks to the team members

Everyone needs to be made aware of their scheduled time frames and it needs to be ensured they are able to finish their task/assignment in that specified time frame.

PM

1009

Keep everyone on schedule

This is going to be a consistent activity. You want to ensure the project will be completed in time.

1010

Install conduit to the deck, pond and gazebo for Uncle Leo

Uncle Leo will not be able to do his part, if his requests are not met. If Uncle Leo’s request are not completed before his scheduled section, it could throw off the time frame for the whole project

Extra Labor

1011

Complete irrigation system

We want to ensure that the irrigation system will be running for when the plant beds are completed and the waterfall.

Non licensed plumber/carpenter friend

1012

Complete Electrical System

The waterfall and many other tasks in this project are going to need the ground wiring to be completed.

Uncle Leo

1013

Complete paver area

The walkway should be completed in provide a foundation and it will allow it time to dry while everything else is being completed

Friend that works for landscaping firm

1014

Complete Gazebo and deck

While the paver area is drying the gazebo and deck can be leveled and completed

1015

Complete the fire pit

This will come after the paver area because you will also need paver benches for the fire put

1016

Complete the pond and waterfall

The irrigation system and the electrical systems are completed so the pond and waterfall will be successful

1017

Complete planting

Planting should be the last activity considering flowers and beds are delicate.
