The Bible
The Bible is a collection of religious books holy to Jews, Christians, and Samaritans. It is believed to be a compilation of verses of different forms connected with the belief that they are God’s revelation. These verses include historical accounts, songs, letters, devotions, tales, and prophecies written for different reasons. The Bible is made up of two accounts known as testaments. These accounts include the Old and the New testaments related to and written by different authors. In this essay, I assume the role of a teacher and create two essay questions based on the two videos provided and thereafter provide correct answers for the two questions…. The two questions include: who wrote the bible and why and What is the Relationship between The Old and New Testaments?
Who wrote the Bible and why?
The Bible was written by prophets and apostles who the Holy Spirit guided to write about God’s relationship with the universe. The Old Testament, which comprises five books, is believed to have been written by Moses, a Hebrew prophet who delivered Israelites from Egypt. These books include Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy. The old testament mainly focuses on the history of Israelites, beginning with creating the universe. It also comprises the tales, commandments, and ethical teachings that constitute the foundation of spiritual growth for both Israelites and the current church. The New Testament contains twenty-seven books. Thirteen of the books were written by Paul, while other apostles inspired by Paul wrote the remaining books. The Bile was written to transmit God’s ideas to human beings. Additionally, the scriptures are used for spiritual nourishment to enable man to differentiate good from evil and know God.
What is the Relationship between The Old and New Testaments?
Both the Old and the New Testaments reflect on God’s plan for man. Christians believe God’s plan for mankind is salvation, disclosed first to the Jews and then to all peoples through Jesus Christ. The New Testament and Old Testament emphasize the continuity of salvation. Moreover, most of the old testament’s prophecies are fulfilled in the new testament. For instance, the prophet Isaiah’s prophecies about the prince of peace and a wonderful chancellor in the old testament is fulfilled by the birth of Jesus Christ as described in Mathew and Luke’s theological gospels. The Old Testament is about the history of how God created the world, Lives of Moses and Abraham, the departure of the Israelites, and the ten commandments which were delivered to Moses by God. On the other hand, the new testament concentrates more on Jesus and his teachings to the current Christian church. The teachings are done mostly through parables
